Second post in a day, isn’t that something or what?? 😉
Actually not, deffinetely the opposite. Am cold & sleepy at my cubicle. So why not update my so-called room…
This is the third time I’m making Sloopy Joe. Forgot the source. I made this for last weekend’s trip to Kebun Raya Bogor (sadly no photos), and to make the best use of my Pull Apart Bread using the recipe which in my last post.
I used 1/2 kg of minced beef, for frozen purpose also.
4 medium size tomatoes, roughly chopped
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 small can of tomato paste
1 tbsp chilli sauce (optional)
500 gr minced beef
1 green paprika, remove the seed, thinly slice
2 cloves garlic, grated
1 small onion, thinly slice
1,5 tbsp all purpose flour
Fleur de sel to taste
In a bowl, combine fresh tomato, tomato paste, brown sugar, lemon juice, chilli powder, chilli sauce. Use a blender to puree them. Set aside.
Heat a pan using olive oil. Stir fry garlic, onion and paprika until fragrant and translucent.
Add minced beef. Cook until brown. Toss in flour, stir quickly.
Pour tomato sauce in. Seasoned with fleur de sel. Cook until the liquid become very thick.
Served with bread, lettuce, mayonnaise and shredded cheese.
You could freeze it also inside a sealed food plastic bag. Thawed & reheat before serving.
